Being a RoSA adviser

RoSA members are passionate about the sheep industry and want to make sure sheep farmers are profitable, sustainable and well-informed. NSA takes the responsibility of being the farmers’ trusted adviser very seriously and aims to ensure the advice provided to UK sheep farmers meets the highest standards. Therefore, for members to maintain membership of RoSA they have to meet the following requirements:

  • Meet the criteria for membership through recognised qualifications, organisation membership and industry experience.
  • Achieve 40 continuous professional development (CPD) points each year covering all aspects of sheep production. CPD is allocated to six categories (sheep health and welfare; nutrition; genetics; business sustainability; soil, grass and forage; and personal development) and RoSA members are required to collect a minimum of three points in each category each year.
  • Agree to and follow the RoSA Code of Professional Ethics which ensures all RoSA advisers work to the highest professional standards
  • Pay their annual invoice of £100 per year.

By meeting these requirements, RoSA advisers can demonstrate their ability to deliver well-rounded comprehensive advice that will drive the UK sheep industry towards a sustainable future.
