NSA to share findings from the 2026 sheep worrying by dogs survey of UK dog owners

The National Sheep Association (NSA) invites members of the press and other interested parties to join the launch of the 2026 NSA Sheep worrying by dogs awareness week on Monday 30th March at 11am.

The online meeting will share findings of NSA’s latest survey on the ongoing devastating issue of sheep worrying by dogs. 

For the first time NSA has sought feedback from the UK’s dog owning public for its annual survey on the issue.

NSA Communications Manager Katie James comments: “For many years NSA has sought feedback from its members and the wider sheep farming community on the impact suffered by their livestock as a result of dog attacks. By reaching out to dog owners NSA hoped to identify strategies for further cooperation between those walking their dogs in the countryside and the farmers whose livestock are regularly put at risk.”

Completed by more than 2000 dog owners, the survey has revealed some important findings on the recognition of what can constitute sheep worrying and the consequences for both owners and their pets if found guilty of sheep worrying offences.

The press launch of this year's survey results will include a discussion of the key findings from the survey with opportunity for questions and answers with NSA Project Manager Nicola Noble and NSA Communications Manager Katie James.
