NSA Lambing List opens to connect sheep farmers with the next generation of agricultural professionals
13th October 2026
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is inviting sheep farmers to advertise lambing placements through the NSA Lambing List, helping them find extra support on farm while giving students valuable hands-on experience.
The NSA Lambing List is an established annual service, connecting sheep farmers across the UK who need assistance at lambing time with students looking for practical work experience as part of their studies.
For NSA members who keep sheep, the Lambing List provides an opportunity to bring additional help onto the farm at one of the busiest times of year. For students, it offers a valuable chance to develop practical skills, build confidence and gain an insight into working in the sheep industry.
Sheep farmers can now submit placements to the NSA Lambing List for the 2027 lambing season. Adverts will be available for students to browse in November, giving them time to find a suitable placement ahead of lambing.
NSA Digital Communications Officer Lydia Badham says: “Lambing is one of the busiest times of the year for sheep farmers and having an extra pair of hands can make a real difference. The NSA Lambing List is a highly valued service that helps sheep farmers across the UK, while giving students valuable hands-on experience and helping to develop the next generation of agriculture.”
The service is an exclusive benefit of NSA membership. Sheep farmers who are not yet members can find out more about membership on the NSA website (here).
Adverts typically include details of the flock, lambing system, placement dates and the experience they can offer. Information about practical arrangements, including accommodation, can also help students decide whether a placement is right for them.
