NSA Breakfast Club ‘live’ to question the new people in power over future farming plans

29th May 2024

The National Sheep Association (NSA) is looking forward to welcoming visitors to its first ever NSA Breakfast Club ‘live’ this summer providing visitors to the NSA Sheep Event with the chance to question and hear firsthand from newly elected MPs on the future of farming in the UK.

Taking place on Tuesday 30th July 2024 at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, the NSA Breakfast Club will be one part of an insightful line up of seminars taking place throughout the day, featuring well known names from industry discussing the topical issues facing sheep farmers in Britain today.

With the event now set to be one of the first major farming gatherings post general election, the NSA Breakfast Club seminar will be the ideal opportunity to hear from those confirmed as responsible for future faming policy decisions.  NSA has representatives from all the main political parties committed to attending NSA Sheep 2024 and prepared to take part in NSA Breakfast Club in the event of them winning the election.

The NSA Breakfast Club ‘live’ will also be available to those not able to join the event on the day as it will be livestreamed via NSA’s social platforms.

NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker comments: “NSA is looking forward to welcoming key political influencers and government decision makers to NSA Sheep 2024 this July and in typical NSA style, we will not shy away from ensuring the issues affecting the sector are top of the list of discussion topics.”

The seminar tent is sure to be a highlight of NSA Sheep  2024 as the debate continues throughout the day with other seminars including the launch of the new NSA Sustainability Report – ‘Sheep; Planetary problem or sustainability saviour’ and a discussion on ‘Navigating agricultural business reform with positivity’.

And following NSA’s recent outward position questioning the leadership of Red Tractor farm assurance the seminar tent is sure to attract a crowd for the final seminar of the day ‘Driving markets and trade opportunities’ when NSA will be joined by representatives from North Wales’ Rhug Estate, AHDB and Red Tractor to focus on the outlook for the future sheepmeat market. Chief Executive of Red Tractor Assurance, Jim Moseley, will join what promises to be a lively debate.

Mr Stocker continues: “I’d encourage anyone with an interest in the future of the sector to join us to ask their questions at NSA Sheep Event. NSA is proud to announce its line up of seminars and speakers and believe it offers an interesting opportunity for discussion covering many areas of our sector, whether that be changes to farming policy, external threats to the industry, or opportunities for the future. We look forward with anticipation to the event and in particular the messages coming out of these topical seminars.”

NSA Sheep 2024  is the flagship event of the Association, held biennially. In addition to seminars the event offers visitors chance to view the latest innovations and products available to them, strengthen their technical knowledge by attending workshops, enjoy spectating a series of competitions, including the national final of the NSA Next Generation Shepherd of the Year competition, and more.

Tickets are now available for the event. NSA members receive free entry. For more information please visit www.sheepevent.org.uk
