NSA returns to Royal Welsh Winter Fair with special Christmas promotion

25th November 2022

The National Sheep Association (NSA) is looking forward to returning to Builth Wells next week for the Royal Welsh Winter Fair.

In its usual location in Livestock Hall 2, the NSA Cymru / Wales stand, (stand number 343) will be an ideal place to speak with NSA regional officeholders with a tea or coffee about the latest NSA activity and issues currently affecting the Welsh and wider UK sheep sector.

NSA Cymru / Wales Region Development Officer Helen Roberts comments: “We are looking forward to returning to the Royal Welsh Showground for the Winter Fair next week, always a highlight of the farming calendar. As usual, NSA Cymru / Wales Region is pleased to support the event through sponsorship of the Native Hill and Upland section classes as well as the young handlers classes taking place on Monday 28th November. We do hope to see lots of familiar and new faces at the NSA stand.”

Also on the stand, NSA will be launching its Christmas membership promotion for 2022 that offers all sheep farmers choosing to sign up to NSA membership at the event and for the first two weeks in December a fantastic sheep breeds print as a free gift* (pictured). The print, kindly provided by artist Als Couzens, features popular sheep breeds, so in combination with NSA membership makes the perfect gift for sheep farmers this Christmas.

Welsh red meat levy board Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) will be present on the NSA stand on Tuesday from 11am until 12 noon to answer questions about the current discussion surrounding increases to levy payments from Welsh producers. In addition the Winter Fair will also provide a great opportunity to speak with NSA Cymru / Wales Region Chair Kate Hovers and Helen Roberts about next spring’s NSA Welsh Sheep event that takes place on Tuesday 16th May at Red House, Aberhafesp, Newtown, Powys. Stand bookings are now open for the event that will make its long awaited return following the unfortunate event postponement in 2021 due to the ongoing covid pandemic at that time.
