Exciting new job opportunities at NSA Head Office

17th August 2022

Due to expansion and retirement, NSA has three job vacancies to fill. All three roles are a vital part of the team running NSA as a membership charity providing a voice for the UK sheep sector.

NSA Support Officer

This is an exciting new role suitable for a recent graduate or similar. It will support the delivery of a number of existing and new projects, including the NSA Next Generation programme. It will also ensure strong links between NSA Head Office and the wider network of NSA officeholders and members, through the NSA regional structure.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude towards all elements of NSA’s work. They will be passionate about agriculture and sheep farming and ideally have some knowledge of farm businesses and the UK sheep sector. On-the-job training will be provided, but a desire and ability to embrace developing areas of work is key.

The role is five days a week, preferably based at NSA Head Office at Malvern but with the options to be entirely or partly home-based, depending on the candidate. It will be an initial six-month contract, to be extended as new projects are confirmed. More detail in the job description, which can be downloaded from this page as a pdf. The closing date for applications is 1pm on Friday 9th September. Interviews will be on Wednesday 14th September, with second round interviews to be scheduled in late September if required.

NSA Membership Officer

With a balance of maintaining existing membership systems and leading the integration of a new CRM database, this role has huge potential for an individual interested in methods to collect and utilise data. The role includes the day-to-day management of NSA membership subscriptions, but also development work to move to a more modern database and operations in the future.

This position is for a systems-driven individual who is meticulous in handling information and maintaining records. They must have a willingness to understand how data is used within the organisation and to work alongside colleague to deliver digital campaigns. Knowledge of GDPR, Gift Aid, CRM, CMS and/or MailChimp is desirable but not essential. On-the-job training will be provided. More detail in the job description, which can be downloaded from this page as a pdf.

The role is four days a week, with flexibility to spread this over five days if desirable. It is a permanent position based at NSA Head Office. The closing date for applications is 1pm on Friday 16th September. Interviews will be on Tuesday 20th September with second round interviews to be scheduled the week after if required.

NSA Association Manager

This is a senior role within NSA, for an individual who can manage the day-to-day concerns of the organisation – including managing the office and NSA Sheep Centre site, Head Office liaison with the NSA regions, and the Chief Executive’s diary and meetings, as well as ensuring the effectiveness of various internal systems.

High levels of organisation and a willingness to take ownership of areas of work/decisions are key for this role. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, have excellent people skills and be adept at managing multiple workstreams. They do not need any prior knowledge of sheep farming, but must be willing to quickly learn and apply the objectives of NSA in day-to-day operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join and drive forward an ambitious organisation with a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers. The role has a great deal of potential for a candidate wanting to foster positive working relationships and practices. More in the job description, which can be downloaded from this page as a pdf.
