Opportunity to join the NSA team

18th December 2014

National Sheep Association (NSA) is looking for a full-time Communications Officer to work from NSA Head Office in Malvern, Worcestershire.

NSA is a membership organisation and the newly appointed Communications Officer will work alongside the Communications Manager to support NSA members and provide them with accessible and appropriate information for their sheep farming businesses. This is an exciting and varied role with involvement in all NSA communication routes, including Sheep Farmer magazine, websites, social media, special projects, press engagement and events.

NSA is looking for someone with strong written communication skills and the ability to strengthen NSA’s profile within the agricultural community and future afield. The successful candidate will be confident with IT, self-motivated and able to manage their own time, as well as being enthusiastic and competent at conducting research and interpreting information for different audiences. NSA is also looking for someone who will work well within the team at Head Office and be confident and professional when dealing with NSA office holders and attending farming events.

Experience of and enthusiasm for the sheep/livestock sector, and a basic understanding of UK farming policy frameworks, is preferred. This position would particularly suit someone with experience in agricultural communications, or someone who has held a communications role outside agriculture and had transferrable online and writing skills; graduates will be considered.
