NSA South West Region farm walk

Date: 30th September 2026

Time: 2pm

Location: Weona park, Charity lane, Coleford nr Frome BA11 3RG

Held on Wednesday, the NSA South West Region farm walk in Somerset attracted faces old and new to view the innovative thinking of a pair of sheep farmers.

Ian May, Regional Manager says: “Many thanks to all of you who made it to our event at Weona Park near Frome. It was great to see such a large number of new and familiar faces come along to hear about the work that Martin, Jana and the team from Parkdale SRS are doing with their flock of Merinos. The afternoon included an in-depth presentation and discussion around the growing impact of Haemonchus and potential management strategies, led by Emily Fraser from Synergy Farm Health and Matt Smith from Trefrank Farm in Cornwall.

“The day was split into two attendee groups, one looking at sheep breeding for wool traits, including looking at breeding for fly strike resilience, and the other looking at Haemonchus. The interesting afternoon was followed by a very tasty spit roast lamb, generously supplied by Martin and Jana.”
