NSA South East Region Next Generation Shepherd Competition

NSA South East Region held its biennial Next Generation Shepherd’s competition on Sunday (10th May) as part of the popular Southern Shears event.
The competition saw five accomplished young shepherds demonstrate their skills in electric fencing, lamb selection, ram MOT and administration of health treatments as well as their knowledge in an industry quiz.
Taking first place and qualifying to represent the region at the national competition final at NSA Sheep Event in July was Ellie Husk from Kent. Ella Barrett from East Sussex was second (also qualifying for the national finals) with Sophia Taylor from Surrey coming in third place.
Congratulations go to all competitors and thanks to the NSA South East Region committee that ran the day, in particular NSA South East Region Vice Chair Matt Blyth.
