The NSA South East Annual Regional Members’ Meeting (ARMM) was well attended by members and guests on Monday evening (2nd February).
The minutes from the 2025 Annual Regional Members’ Meeting were signed off and all officeholders re-elected.
Susie Parish, Regional Chair delivered her report, highlighting the major events organised by the region including a successful visit to Langrish Farmers and the region’s ram sale in September, not to mention the Sheep Health, Welfare and Production (SHWAP) conference.
Yann De Lu, Regional Treasurer, provided his report highlighting the regional contribution to Moredun to assist with the commercialisation the louping ill vaccine. The region remains in a healthy state financially.
Following formal business Awal Fuseini, AHDB, provided an interesting presentation on understanding the Halal market discussing what constitutes halal, the numbers of stunned vs non-stun slaughter (28% sheep), consumer buying preferences and contentious issue of food labelling.
Finally, Nicola Noble, NSA Project Manager, gave an overview NSA’s wide range of activities from policy, to projects, to communications.
