NSA Scottish Region ARMM

NSA Scottish Region held its Annual Regional Members Meeting (ARMM) on Wednesday 25th February at SRUC Veterinary School Sunnybrae Farm, Aberdeen. The event and brought together NSA members for updates, presentations, and a guided tour of the SRUC facilities.
Significant changes to NSA Scotland leadership were confirmed during the formal business session. Alec Telfer was elected NSA Scotland Chairman, succeeding Peter Myles, who stepped down after completing his term.
Derek Hall was elected Vice Chairman, while Peter Myles will continue to serve the region as Treasurer. Pamela Nicol, was re-approved to continue her role as Trustee, Jack Cuthbert was newly elected as Trustee, and Mary Dunlop stepped down from her Treasurer role.
The ARMM included updates from Phil Stocker on national activity and policy issues, covering topics such as transport of animals, vaccine support, national flock decline and initiatives like Lamb for St Andrews Day. NSA Scottish Region committee members also provided updates to members on regional priorities.
Attendees enjoyed presentations from key industry figures, including Michael Sanderson (British Wool), Keira Smith (a young shepherd from Scotland) and Phil Stocker.
Keira Smith shared her experiences competing in Paris at the Salon International de l'Agriculture, European young shepherd competition (read more here), while Michael Sanderson discussed the current wool market.
The event featured a guided tour of SRUC Sunnybrae Farm, led by Vivienne MacKinnon, providing members with an insight into the facilities and the skills being developed by the next generation of veterinary students.
