NSA Northern Region ARMM

Last night (Thursday) NSA Northern Region held its Annual Regional Members Meeting at Hexham Mart. The well attended meeting saw a few changes within the committee including Ted Ogden stepping down after completing his two-year term as Chairman, with Graham Wilkinson moving up from Vice Chairman. Dan Taylforth was appointed Vice Chairman, with Ted Ogden moving into the role of Treasurer. James Raine, Thomas Carrick and Rebecca Wilson were all reconfirmed in their existing roles.

The evening also saw a some well deserving members honoured with awards. Anna Booth was the recipient of the Geoff Lawn Memorial Award and William Rawling received the TI Allinson Award. Viv Lewis was named as the first recipient of the new Helm Shield posthumously after she lost her battle with cancer. This award has been created to honour a woman who has made a real and positive difference to the northern sheep farming industry and wider community, particularly through social justice and environmental sustainability. Members were informed of a celebration of Viv’s life at Melmerby Hall on Saturday 6th June. Further details will be circulated once available.
