NSA Northern Ireland Hosts Successful Annual Members Meeting

The National Sheep Association (NSA) Northern Ireland held its Annual Regional Members’ Meeting with a strong turnout of members and industry representatives.

The meeting saw the election of a new regional leadership team, with Edward Adamson appointed as Chairperson and William Egerton as Vice Chairperson. Both bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the role, ensuring strong representation for sheep farmers in Northern Ireland.
Attendees also benefited from informative guest presentations.

Representatives from the Livestock and Meat Commission for Northern Ireland (LMCNI) provided valuable market intelligence updates, offering insights into current trends and future outlooks for the sheep sector. Cara Sheridan from MSD Animal Health delivered an engaging presentation focused on Schmallenberg virus, alongside discussions on other key sheep health challenges affecting flocks across the region.

The event was well received by members, providing an excellent opportunity for networking, industry updates, and constructive discussions on the future of the sheep sector.

NSA Communications Manager Katie James attended the meeting from NSA HQ to deliver an update on national NSA activity. She adds: “A warm welcome is always received from the NSA Northern Ireland’s committee and so it was great to attend this well managed and attended meeting this week.”
