NSA Marches Region Lambing Lowdown

NSA Marches Region came together on Wednesday evening for a post lambing social event that provided an opportunity for honest discussion on both the successes and difficulties experienced this lambing season.

Members were joined by vets Nick Gibbon and Katie Kipling from Belmont Farm Vets who were generous with both their time and advice discussing a wide range of issues.

NSA Marches Region Manager Katie James reports: “This was the first time our region has held a post lambing event such as this. We were pleased to welcome members together who clearly valued the opportunity to chat with each other as well as the experienced farm vets. Members discussed issues including increased numbers of prolapses and cases of joint ill but also shared successes suggesting an overall positive lambing. Discussion then moved on to possible future concerns with increasing haemonchus risk and the risk from bluetongue virus this year. Thanks go to our event hosts Andrew and Helen Powers and to Nick and Katie for their fantastic advice.”

NSA Marches Region is now planning a farm walk next month near Bridgenorth, Shropshire. Details to be shared very soon.
