NSA Central Region field day at Reaseheath College
Date: 22nd October 2025
Time: 10.30am - 3pm
Location: Reaseheath College Nantwich Cheshire, CW5 6DF
The first NSA Central Region field day of the year took place on 22nd October, kindly hosted by Reaseheath College. Attendees enjoyed engaging interactive workshops by Agrimin, Innovis, LLM Farm Vets and MSD Animal Health.
Innovis shared how reviewing your system can help to free up time and increase efficiency. Including the importance of selecting rams based on your system and objectives. MSD Animal Health added using EID to record information and perform analysis on your flock will also improve flock health and finances.
Agrimin explained the importance of body condition scoring and how it can be used to identify and manage sheep in poorer conditions, which has been a particular issue with the dry weather. The weather had also impacted health challenges, LLM Vets explained the high levels of haemonchus this year, how to spot and treat it. They also discussed bluetongue and how vaccinating helps to mitigate losses.
The workshops were followed by a tour of the farm at Reaseheath, including an overview of the flock kept at the College and how it feeds into their ‘Farm to Fork’ project.
Thank you to all the speakers, sponsors and to Reaseheath College for hosting the event.
