Next Generation ready: Sustainable parasite management in a changing climate

Date: 11th September 2025

Time: 12-15.30

Location: Manor Farm Cottage, Rugely, WS15 3QE

On Thursday NSA held the Next Generation Ready: Sustainable Parasite Management in a Changing Climate workshop at Cowley Hill Farm, Rugeley, kindly hosted by Will Roobottom.

The workshop featured guest speaker Nerys Wright, an independent sheep consultant and parasite expert, who shared her specialist knowledge with attendees. The session was designed to be highly interactive, with a focus on the real-world challenges participants were experiencing on their farms.

Organiser of the NSA Next Generation event, Anna Wilson says “These small group workshops enable attendees to receive tailored advice. Parasite control is a minefield of confusing information. Advice is often ‘it depends’, but that’s not helpful when you have a problem on farm. In this workshop, Nerys was able to give individual advice to everyone, enabling each person to take away something useful.”

The event demonstrated the importance of providing young farmers with accessible, practical guidance to support them in managing sustainable farming practices.

NSA Next Generation workshops are designed to equip future farmers with the skills and knowledge they need to progress in the industry.

NSA is now looking forward to more workshops this autumn, in partnership with British Wool.
