Great Yorkshire Show and NSA Northern Region Shepherd of the Future competition

Young Shepherds compete at the Great Yorkshire Show

Young shepherds aged 15 to 18 took part in the first NSA Northern Region Shepherd of the Future competition held in conjunction with the Great Yorkshire Show this week. 

The new feature at the event saw six keen competitors take part in three elements as part of the competition, battling for the generous cash prize money. Skills in stockjudging and young handlers were put to the test as well as their knowledge in a UK sheep quiz. Taking the title was 15 year old Izzy North from Settle, North Yorkshire who showed her Dutch Spotted sheep as part of the contest. Ava Tait took the reserve champion place.
