NSA Cymru/Wales Region AGM 2015

Date: 19th February 2015

A wet afternoon on the 19th of February attracted a higher than usual number of attendees to the NSA Cymru/Wales AGM on the Royal Welsh Showground.

The formal business saw Paul Wozencraft reapproved as Chairman and Llew Thomas as Vice Chairman, with Helen Davies as Treasurer. NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker reports: “Paul’s infatuation with Manchester United saw him lighten the mood with the speakers being likened to the Red Devils’ strike force and Professor Dai Morris to Alex Ferguson – but no mention was made of a season of poor performances and a grinding out of desperate results!"

The AGM was followed by three fascinating presentations: firstly from Dai Morris (pictured right) as winner of the 2014 John Gittins award, reflecting on more than 50 years in sheep farming and looking to the future; second up was Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Chief Executive Steve Hughson (pictured left), who talked of the RWAS vision for the future and the close synergies between the NSA objectives and those of the RWAS, proposing that we could do even more together in the future; last but not least was Rhydian Thomas  (pictured centre), who spoke of his experiences as an NSA Next Generation Ambassador last year. All presentations sparked some good debate, and in particular Rhydian’s talk stimulated plenty of discussion and even offers of help with future intakes.” For a full report from the AGM click here.
