NSA South East Region farm walk

Date: 23rd June 2026

Time: 2pm

Location: Rappa Fencing Ltd, Stockbridge, SO20 6JE. Biddesdon House Farm Partnership, Ludgershall, SP11 9DN

This summer’s afternoon farm walk on Tuesday 23rd June will be one of two halves.

By popular demand, NSA South East Region have arranged the opportunity to look around the production facility at Rappa Fencing, Stockbridge to see the fabrication workshops for their fencing and handling systems.

Attendees will then take a 20 minute car journey to visit the farm of the Biddesdon House Farm Partnership.

This 2,300 acre operation runs a fully integrated arable and livestock operation with a milking herd of 180 Ayrshire cows, some Angus X beef cattle and of most interest to members, 1,200 North Country Mule ewes, plus replacements, put to Suffolk tups. Of these, 250 are lambed in January with the remainder in March, all lambed indoors and TMR fed prelambing before turning out onto a range of pasture types, from permanent pasture through to short term leys in the arable rotation and various herbal leys associated with schemes. Some ewe lambs are sold to the West Country for breeding with the remainder sold dead weight. Having identified MV as a potential problem in the flock, a start has been made to move to MV free status with testing of the most recent batch of shearlings.

This event will be a most interesting visit, not to be missed!

Attendees should arrive at Rappa in time to begin our tour at 2pm.
