NSA Marches Region - From Collie to Kelpie: Tailored training for every sheepdog

Date: 25th October 2025

Time: 10.00am - 3pm

Location: Parkhorn Farm, Bromyard, Herefordshire, HR7 4PX

NSA Marches Region is pleased to invite members and other interested sheep farmers and dog handlers to a practical day of workshops this October.

Taking place on Saturday 25th October near Bromyard, Herefordshire, ‘From Collie to Kelpie: Tailored training for every sheepdog’ will give ideas on how to get the very best from your dogs, with renowned trainers of Collies, Huntaways and Kelpies all attending to pass on some of their vast experience.

Early booking for this workshop is recommended as places are limited to allow those attending to get the very best from their day. A small number of bookings can be taken from those wishing to bring their own dog for tailored individual advice, while others are invited to join to gain a general insight into the differing training methods used between breeds. These are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Training will be delivered by Stu Fifield-Smith (Huntaways), Nina Griffiths (Kelpies), with the Border Collie trainer TBC.

A demonstration will also take place on effective stress-free handling of sheep without the use of dogs.

Refreshments, including a warm lunch, will be provided.

Tickets for the workshop, costing £10 (to attend without a dog) or £25 (to attend with your dog) can now be reserved below. Please contact NSA Marches Region Manager Katie James katie@nationalsheep.org.uk for more information. *Please note only one dog can be booked in per person. All dogs must be aged over 12 months of age.
