You will need to complete 5 task on the day - A & B are compulsory

Tasks with a low uptake maybe cancelled. In this situation competitors would be given the option to select another one

A - Demonstrate husbandry skills. Give examples of correct foot care techniques/handling, vaccinating & dosing (e.g. work out the correct weight of ewes for dosage of wormer and correct examples of injection sites)

B - Answer questions on flock management & health questionnaire

C - Lamb selection & grading. Run a batch of lambs through a race and select those ready to kill on the day.

D - ATV Handling – complete a set course. You will be given direction from the instructor NOTE: Must be 16 years and over for this task

E - Sheep Dog Handling – You will need to bring your own dog. It is the handler being judged and not the dog. You will be asked to complete some day to day tasks e.g. gather, penning, move sheep through gateway, shed, hold up etc

F - Electric fencing – Erect an electric fence suitable for holding ewes in a field.
