Are you in a position to take on an agricultural placement student?

26th February 2015

NSA is receiving an increasing number of requests from agricultural students wanting help to find an on-farm placement (or sandwich year) as part of their studies. NSA is keen to encourage and help these students gain important experience in the industry. At the current time we are including their details in the NSA Weekly Email Update, but with numbers of requests increasing we are trying a different approach and instead collating a list of NSA members with an interest (however small) of taking on a placement student.

Placements tend to begin either immediately after the summer-term finishes (June) or when the school year restarts (September) and vary from six to 14 months. They are generally paid (at a level that takes into consideration how much experience the placement student has) and occasionally request accommodation too.

NSA is starting a register of members willing to consider taking a
placement student in 2015. If you would like to be included on
the register please send your email address to enquiries@nationalsheep.org.uk

Once we have a list of NSA members interested in a placement student we will send details of prospective candidates to you. We will not inundate you with emails and predict that we will send an update once a fortnight at the most.
