NSA Northern Ireland Region Annual Members Meeting 2015

Date: 17th November 2015

Time: 7.30pm

Location: AFBI, Large Park, BT26 6DR

Tuesday evening was the turn of NSA Northern Ireland Region to hold its Annual Regional Members Meeting, at AFBI, Hillsborough.

Campbell Tweed was elected into the position of Chairman and will also sit on the NSA UK Policy and Technical Committee for the region, while Brian Jamison will serve as Vice Chairman and Ian McDonnell as Treasurer. The regional Director Trustee will be John Blaney, while the committee has been expanded with the addition of Jonny Farmer and David Wallace.

An open meeting followed formal proceedings where a number of speakers gave their views on the future of the sheep industry, while emphasising the importance of research and new technology. Phil Stocker, NSA Chief Executive, reports: “It really was a pleasure to be part of this well attended, well organised and friendly event, while also getting the chance to thank the many people who get involved and support NSA NI Region. Whilst in Northern Ireland, I also got the chance to visit Campbell Tweed at his farm. To farm in such a stunning location within this beautiful country is impossible to put a value on, and while monetary value is essential and has been difficult to grasp this year, to work in such surroundings undoubtedly helps make it worthwhile.”
