NSA Central Region Next Generation Shepherd Competition

NSA Central Region invites members and non-members residing in its region to take part in its NSA Next Generation Shepherd Competition to be held on Sunday 12th May, kindly hosted by JCB Farms. What3words - Stunner.Shepherds.Iterative
Total prize money will be:
1st £250 + trophy
2nd £100
3rd £50
4th £25
There will be an additional prize of £50 for the highest placed under 21yr old.
This free to enter competition, open to entries from young shepherds aged 26 years and under on 30th July 2024 and who live in the NSA Central Region. The first and second place competitors will represent NSA Central in the National final of the Young Shepherd of the Year at the NSA Sheep Event at Malvern, 30th July 2024, where the first prize is £1,000.
FORMAT OF COMPETITION:
Sheep Health and Management multiple choice questionnaire
Then any four of the five tasks below:
- Select Lambs for Slaughter
- Sheep Shearing
- Sheep husbandry, handling, vaccinating & dosing
- Ram MOT
- Mobile electric fencing skills
Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
