Stamp Out Lameness

3rd May 2012

In a bid to reduce levels of sheep lameness, Farmers Weekly and NSA are promoting a  5-step strategy that has the potential to halve lameness within a year.

The five areas include: culling badly affected or repeatedly affected animals; quarantining incoming animals; treating clinical cases; avoiding spread at gathering and handling; and vaccination.

In order to get an idea of how you are tackling lameness on your farm, complete the eight multiple choice questions on the fwi website. All completed questionnaires will be placed in a draw to win one of ten tickets to NSA Sheep 2012 on 4th July.
