NSA Eastern Region Winter Fair

The inhospitable weather did nothing to deter visitors to the NSA Eastern Region Winter Fair at Melton Mowbray Market in Leicestershire on Friday 31^st January.

There was great deal of interest in the large range of trade stands and good uptake of the seminars on offer.

It was also a great day for Harry Lombardi of Boston, Lincolnshire, who won the NSA Eastern Region Young Shepherd of the Year Competition and qualified for the National Final at the NSA Sheep Event on Wednesday 30^th July. Second place and best competitor aged 21 or under was Fred Love from Retford, Nottinghamshire (he also qualifies for the national final); third was Ryan O’Sullivan from Fakenham in Norfolk.

In the trade stand competition, best large stand was Eblex, best small stand was Craven Cattle Marts and best breed society was the Charollais.

2^nd          Fred Love from Retford in Nottinghamshire (also best 21 and under)

3^rd           Ryan O’Sullivan from Fakenham in Norfolk.

Harry and Ryan will take part in the National final of the competition at NSA Sheep Event 2014 at Three Counties Showground, Malvern, on July 30th.
